History of Border Trade

Border Area Regulation of Border Trade
Border Trade Area

Guangxi border trade is mainly conducted with Vietnam. As the only one minority autonomous region in China with coast, border and river, Guangxi has superior geographical environment and position advantages. It has 1595 kilometers coastline, 21 quality sea ports to be developed. The closest waterway to Vietnamese coast is only 150 sea miles. Seven counties and cities of Guangxi border on Vietnam, with 1020 kilometers of land border line.

These are great advantages for developing Guangxi-Vietnam trade markets. Abundant resources in the southwest provinces of China can be exported and transited from Guangxi conveniently. Sino-Vietnam Railway Pingxiang Port has already recovered operation since 1997. A three-dimension traffic network of sea, land and air has taken shape, offering convenient transportation for border trade development.

Soft investment environment has been improving year by year. In recent years Guangxi has made a series of official documents to encourage border trade development. All of these offer convenient terms for Sino-Vietnam border trade development.

Approved by the State and co-established by Guangxi and Vietnam, presently mutual border inhabitants' trade spots are as follows: Yangwu, Dongxing of Dongxing City, Tansan, Lihuo, Dongzhong of Fangcheng Region, Banlan, Aidian, Beishan of Ningming county, Youai, Pingxiang, Nongnao (including Pusai and Nonghuai), Pinger of Pingxiang City, Nahua, Shuikou, Kejia, Buju, Jinlong of Longzhou County, Shuolong, Yanying, Detian of Daxin County, Xinxing, Longbang, Yuexu, Mengma of Jingxi County and Pingzhen, Nabu Bainan of Napo County.

Guangxi's national first class land border ports include Dongxing, Pingxiang, Youyiguan and Shuikou; local second class ports are Dongzhong, Aidian, Pingerguan, Kejia, Shuolong,Yuexu, Longbang and Pingmeng.

Besides, Guangxi has border trade cargo passing ports along its coast: Shitoubu of Beihai City, Guozishan of Qinzhou City, Jiangshan and Qisha of Fangchenggang City as well as two temporary customs check points in Qiaoguang of Biehai City and Baishaman of Fangchenggang City.
