Zhuhai national hi-tech industrial
development zone
Zhuhai,lying in the south of Guangdong ,is a famous seaside garden
city facing Hong Kong across the ocean and connected to Macao via
land. As one of the earliest Special Economic Zone of China, Zhuhai
with 7650 square kilometers and population of 1150,000 is endowed
with legislative by the People??s Representative Congress.
Zhuhai has unceasingly perfected its city construction and facilities.
Under this condition, it has already formed a synthetical extroverted
economy pattern with leading industry while being supplemented
by the harmonious development of trade, travel, financing, real
estate, message, transportation, agriculture, and fishing etc.
Zhuhai is one of the hot spot of foreign investment. Till the
end of 1997, Zhuhai government has ratified the using of 7704
foreign contracts, which includes the using of $ 11.6 billion
foreign capital on contract and $ 5.6 billion in practice. The
setup of 2459 3-stock enterprises has brought 70% of the overall
industrial production value of Zhuhai. Meanwhile, there has been
25 large MNCs located in Zhuhai.
Zhuhai, near oceans and mountains and with amiable climate, beautiful
scenes, convenient transportation, self-contained facilities and
perfect investment environment, has won several state-level titles
as Good Hygiene City, Garden City, Model for Environment Protection
and Tourist City.
