Guangzhou Economic and Technological
Development Zone
Guangzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone is among the
first batch of export-oriented economic zones approved by the State.
At present, it has 3 component parts: the western zone, the eastern
zone, and the Yonghe Economic Zone. The total land area that has
been developed in the whole Zone comes up to over 30 square kilometers.
The administrative and service setups of the Guangzhou Economic
and Technological Development Zone are well known for its simplified
administrative processes and high working efficiency. The Administrative
Board of the Development Zone, on behalf of the Municipal Government
of Guangzhou, exercises, within the bounds of the Development
Zone, the administrative power at the municipality level. The
Board handles its administrative affairs in the light of international
usual practice and norms concerning economic relations and trade,
and it has now formed a comparatively complete set of legal protection
system. For the convenience of investors, the Development Zone
has established various service bodies, such as service center
for investors, law office, accountants' office, education and
training center, information center, and various commercial banks
as well as other monetary setups.
