Zhuhai Free Trade Zone
Zhuhai Free Trade Zone (hereinafter referred to as the Zone) was
founded with the approval of the State Council. Its enclosure infrastructure
facilities and the Customs supervision & administration conditions
successfully passed the examination of the Customs General on May
8, 1999. It's now being officially put into operation. Occupying
an area of 3 square kilometers, with a land span of 5 kilometers
and a strip of water to Macau, and a one-hour voyage to Hong Kong,
the Zone is strategically located in the highly-developed Zhuhai
City and the Pearl River Delta.
The Zone is co-managed by the Customs and the Administrative
Committee, an agent authorized to exercise economic administrative
functions of the Municipal Government. It has the designated functions,
bestowed by the State, of export-oriented processing, public-bonded
warehousing and international trading. Enclosure management is
practiced inside the Zone, with preferential, flexible and stable
policies of the customs supervision, foreign exchange and taxes.
